I may be slightly addicted to the Too Good To Go app. I first saw it on social media and it was all influencers in larger cities and it made me jealous that we didn't have something like that here in Baton Rouge.
Then earlier this year, I noticed we had a few places on the app: Circle K, Sambath donuts, Whole Foods and Hunan Inn. I was so happy! Almost a year later and plenty of other places have added themselves to the app, with more coming! Most recently a beignet place has been added and I can't wait to try and snag a bag from them!
Here are a few of my recent grabs:
Delicious Donuts: This is our family's favorite donut shop in the city, so I was excited to see them on there! (We are weekly regulars.) I got a dozen donuts, plus all of those donut holes. I even got a bag on the side that had a cinnamon roll, two twists and an éclair. Total cost: $7
Crafted Nibbles: I've been wanting to try this build your own charcuterie board place for a while, and this was an easy intro. I had a ton of grapes, some salami, some spicy turkey, some pepperoni, some prosciutto wrapped mozzarella, a couple of different cheese, a fig spread and some crackers. Total cost: $6.
Counterspace: I used this as desserts for our family Derby party, so that's why it's plated so nicely. We had some cookie cake bites, brownies, funfetti type bars and some cake that was amazing but I'm not sure what it was. Total cost: $7
Main Squeeze: A Detox juice and some chickpea puffs. Honestly, was disappointed. While I got $15 worth of food for $6, this was advertised as a "large" bag. Considering how much food I've gotten at other places (even Circle K gave me 4 items!) this was just a little disappointing. If I snag one from them again, I'll go in with eyes wide open.
Hunan Inn: Flashback to the box that started the obsession. Look how much food I got for under $10!
If you haven't downloaded the app, do it! I can't wait to try this out on our bestie trip to Boston. I'm sure they have lots of cool places on it! If you ever wonder why I'm poor, it's the allure of a food grab bag.
