Weekly Check-In

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers and those who fill a mother-like role in someone's life. It's hard to believe that we are halfway through May and that next week will begin the transition of my life as a mom to a high schooler. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ But let's dive right in to this week's wrap-up, shall we?

HIGH:
No more students on campus!!! Until the fall ... ok so not near as many since some will be taking summer classes. Finals week is over and the next day with more traffic and fighting for parking spots than anyone cares to see is graduation next Friday.

LOW: SO MUCH RAIN. I know it's that time of the year where it rains every day, but it's still annoying.

HA: Sitting through a multi-hour weather delay with my parents. Working live events, I've always wondered how people got into the venues early and I guess I should ask my parents because they seem to be the people to figure it out. My dad had plenty of time to make lots of gameday and concession staff friends.

COOL EATS: I love crepes! So when I saw a crepe stand at the rugby game that kiddo and krewe were singing the national anthem at, I had to go all in and get the specialty one. The Golden Banana Crunch Crepe came with dark chocolate, salted butter caramel, bananas, homemade whipped cream and crushed peanuts and it was delicious and decadent. Worth every penny.

LAST READ: God of the Woods by Liz Moore. I read this for our church book club and it was really good. As one of the members said "I didn't know if I could trust the author to get it right, but she did." ๐Ÿ˜‚ I also just finished a cute quick fated mates story called What the Croc and am now going to dive deeper into this loosely connected series.

CURRENT READ: Iron Flame. Yep, I'm continuing down the Fourth Wing rabbit hole, at least for now.

ON REPLAY: Not much to report here as I've pretty much been binging on audio books. My hold for The Good of the Woods came in 3 days before our book club meeting on it so I had to catch up really quickly. I had more listening time during the rugby weather delay of Iron Flame as I walked the concourse to kill time, and get some extra steps in.

WATCHING: Not gonna lie, haven't really watching much lately either as we have been so on the go.

OBSESSING: Vacation ... always about vacation. And winning the lottery, that would be nice too. But that means I have to buy a ticket. So maybe just hoping someone wants to randomly deposit money into my bank account.
