One night in Atlanta before we moved on to Nashville. After picking up our rental car, which we started to get really concerned that we wouldn't have (apparently they were down 60 cars due to having some Delta flights get cancelled and Beyonce in town), we made a stop at the World of Coca-Cola before leaving town.
The folks and I had been before, but we were excited about seeing how kiddo would enjoy it. If you're ever in Atlanta, definitely check it out! You obviously start by going through the history of Coke, which considering the guy bought the recipe for $2300 and then sold it for $25 million, it's a wild thought of how a drink could change so much.
I also knew that Coke was like the Disney of the beverage world, but I didn't realize just how many companies fell under the Coke umbrella. The biggest surprises for me were Core Power and Fair Life.
The Beverage Lab was one of our favorite spots because you could to build a beverage, and then it told you what to sample in the Tasting Station to get a beverage similar to the one you built. My mom's beverage was the best in my opinion, while mine tasted really watered down. Major disappointment. But the best part of the Beverage Lab was being able to sample a Coke product that hasn't been released yet. To be honest, it was the best thing I drank all day and I hope it will be released in the US.
They had a station that went through how smells play a part in beverage creation, but we ditched it to wait in line at the Icon station to see a true celebrity, the Coke Bear! We were not the only adults in line, and it shows that people of all ages can appreciate a little fun.
We then wandered through a history of the stories that Coke has been a part of over the years, and even ventured to a setting of an old time soda shop, Jacob's Pharmacy where Coke was first sold to see how times have changed.
Lastly, the most important part of any visit here was the Tasting Station, where you can sample over 100 Coke products from around the world. My favorite found here was Fanta Pineapple from Greece. We obviously made kiddo try Beverly, from Italy, which is the one known for being a lot of bitter and not appealing. Her face did not disappoint. 😂
After a stop for lunch at Felini's Pizza, we were on the road to Nashville! Stay tuned for the Nashville recap.
