ARC Season: Drawn To You

Y'all, I LOVE Hannah Henry, so I was beyond excited when I was selected to be part of the ARC team for this book! Drawn to You is the first book in The Call-Ups, which is a spin-off series from the Delay of Game series. Jackson and Ryan, who are the couple featured in the first book in the Delay of Game series, make an appearance in this book, but you don't have to read their story to enjoy this one.

(But you should go ahead and read their story in Drive the Net ...)

This book features Brandon and Gabe, who will more than likely be your new favorite couple. Brandon is in the AHL, while Gabe is an art student.

We meet Gabe first, and discover that he is struggling for cash but hustling to keep his head above water. This poor guy works 2-3 jobs while being an art major and barely has time to sleep. He lives with a group of friends and they are all very protective of each other.

While Gabe is trying to figure out how to bring in some extra money, his friends suggest Only Fans or becoming a sugar baby. They brainstorm who could potentially be sugar daddies for Gabe and they mentioned professional athletes. Gabe shoots his shot by sending some DMs on Instagram to a few pro players, and one very kindly lets him know that he is straight with a girlfriend but respects Gabe's hustle.

Brandon and Gabe "meet" in an online creative writing course. When Brandon mentions he is a hockey player, Gabe jokes about how his friends mentioned he should get a sugar daddy who was a professional athlete so he found it kind of funny that he was in a class with a hockey player.

After that class, they begin DMing each other on Instagram, which leads to Brandon finding Gabe's art page ... and then discovering Gabe's NSFW art page. Brandon pretty much buys his shop out and Gabe is stunned. When Gabe realizes it is Brandon who bought his art, a friendship begins.

When Brandon gets called up to the NHL, he asks Gabe if they can meet in person. The two are like magnets and are instantly drawn to each other. They are so comfortable with each other that Brandon comes out to Gabe. Gabe is honored that Brandon feels that comfortable with him.

The more they hang out, the more Brandon notices little things that Gabe needs and does what he can to help. From sending money for groceries, to ordering a subscription prepared meal service, to buying him a new Macbook, Brandon shows he cares by providing.

Both Brandon and Gabe struggle with wondering whether they can be enough for the other, and watching the slow burn from friends to partners will leave a smile on your face. I can't wait to see what other Delay of Game characters make an appearance in this series!
