Here's a quick recap of the next two books in this series. WARNING: For anyone new here, there may be a few spoilers when I start talking books. Since I don't mind them, I forget that a lot of people do. ๐ฌ

Book 3 of the series land us on the pickle ball court. We find Sadie taking all of her aggression out on a poor pickle ball. Her doubles partner has left her to partner with a professional, and while she has tried so hard to beat the pro he left her for in singles matches, she still can't beat her. Her best friend's brother Beckett, who is also a professional pickle ball player, finds her there and can't help but offer to help her with her game. After all, since Jessica (the same pro who stole Sadie's partner) breaks up with him, he's lost his love for the game. He thinks playing with Sadie will help him find the fun in pickle ball again.
She doesn't just help him find the fun in the game, but also the fun in life. The two are teamed up for Beckett's family's gingerbread competition and win with their gingerbread pickle ball court.
But of course, Beckett gets spooked after kissing Sadie. He is too scared of history repeating itself. Meanwhile, Sadie is having deja Vu and feeling like she isn't enough ... again.
The two are partnering for a charity pickle ball tournament and of course end up in the same pool play bracket with their ex-partners. They are targeting Sadie as she is the only non-pro in the game, and her play suffers as her insecurities come out. It doesn't help that Beckett gets frustrated and takes it out on her.
He immediately regrets it and finds her to apologize. The end up having a rematch in the finals of the charity tournament, where karma finally comes for Jessica and the lovebirds go home with wins on the court and in love.

I know it's early in the series, but this could be my favorite couple. Ansel is a firefighter (a Lieutenant at that!) and while he and his crew are out grocery shopping, they get a call about a bear. Cleo is surprised to see a bear in her hot tub, but even more surprised when he leaves but comes back with a fish to enjoy while he soaks. Life has dealt Cleo a rough year. Her parents passed away, and she is now the guardian of her seven year old brother Cameron. She feels like she isn't what Cameron needs as she can't cook, doesn't really do sports, and generally isn't prepared to move into a parental role at 25.
After the bear incident, Cleo and Cameron make cookies to take to the firestation as a thank you. They run into Ansel, who when he admits he likes baseball, has Cameron asking him if they can play together. While the two toss the ball around, Cleo's heart begins to want things she thinks she shouldn't. After all, Cameron needs her.
Ansel falls for Cleo, but he also falls for Cameron. He's a caretaker at heart, and these two bring out all of his protective instincts. He teaches Cleo how to cook, and plays baseball with Cameron, brings them around his family, who love the two as if they have always been there.
This one was so sweet, and while there is no spice, the kitchen scene while Ansel is teaching her how to cook ๐
We're only two weeks in, and I'm smitten and can't wait for the rest to come out so I can binge them!
