There were big plans for this week, but as often happens, sometimes life likes to laugh at your big plans. Here's a skimpy recap since life had other plans:
HIGH: This may sound weird for a high, but I had a super productive week at the office. My focus was better than it has been, and I feel really accomplished even though I have about half of our inventory left to find and scan as being found through multiple facilities. (Mike the Tiger says hello!)
LOW: So the big plans for the week involved taking Friday off and going with kiddo to hear the first in the Cool Careers series the library is doing, which was from people who work at NASA. The plan was to follow that up to a new to us restaurant who's Friday special was lobster rolls ... but then around 4pm on Thursday, I started to get a fever that lasted well into the weekend so I spent my time at home resting. Kiddo still went to the Cool Careers chat with my parents, but no lobster rolls were to be had. 😔
HA: Since I originally planned to be out of the office on Friday, I missed that there is a mouse running wild and free in our office. I just think this is funny, but I'm also bummed to miss seeing Jerry scurry around.
CHASE THE FUN: I took kiddo and some of her friends to the Art & Science Museum for free first Sunday because she wanted to see the new Egyptology exhibit. Since we got downtown early so I could find parking, we stopped in the LSU Art Museum and made our own art while doing a scavenger hunt around the exhibits.
LATEST READ: I needed somewhat of a mental break, and did a few rereads of some of my favorite authors found through KU. Silent Knight by Beth Bolden (from the Christmas Falls series, that I hope comes back for a third year!) and Mischief and Mates by M.A. Innes (from my little dragons in the Blue Ridge mountain series)
CURRENT READ: The Library Game by Gigi Pandian. This was one that Instagram targeted me with and I am loving it! I'm halfway through and still haven't figured out the mystery, but I do have suspicions.
ON REPEAT: Someone came up on my FYP on Tik Tok talking about Louisiana is different as we had someone who was in jail, but had already booked a festival gig come play at the festival. An while I knew that had happened, I had forgotten that Wayne Toups played a festival with prison guards around him. It brought me back to high school where Wayne Toups was huge in SWLA, so Take My Hand has been on repeat for me lately. Such a good song.
UPCOMING ADVENTURES
Mississippi Trips: I have not one, but two Mississippi trips coming up! One is a mission trip with a few people from our church where I'll be helping to run a children's camp. The next weekend will be a quick weekend away from the family to the beach and we'll also see The Sound of Music on stage.
Broussard Family Train Trip: Our train trip taking us to Atlanta/Nashville/Pigeon Forge is a month away, and I feel like I'm not prepared, but I'm excited!
I have snacks and clothes to buy for all of the above, so until next time, have a great week!
