June is flying by, literally. Summer has so much planned and I am struggling to catch up on all of the things I need to do before different trips because "I have so much time..." Yea, I had all of that time 2 months ago when I thought about it. But, before we go full speed a head with the first trip of the summer this week, let's look back on last week's adventures.
HIGH: There were a lot of highs this week, but if I had to pick one, it would be that summer reading with the Boys and Girls Club has started back up. It's my favorite part of the summer, as it gives me time to hang out with kids while also keep in touch with the newer children's books.
LOW: I could not keep track with what day of the week it actually was as I had placed all personal appointments on my calendar on the wrong day. 🤦Because of this, I missed my intro to podcasting class at the library that I was greatly looking forward to because I had double booked myself.
HA: When I went to my doctor visit this week (the last visit because of my broken elbow!), I noticed that someone has been hiding little Jesus's around the office. That same day, I sent kiddo a meme about how we should all speak to each other like old world travelers and her response to the picture I sent of the hidden Jesus did not disappoint. Kiddo can commit to a bit, and kill it.
COOL EATS: I made an intentional ghost shaped pizza. The whole family got a good laugh at him.
I also used our book club as an excuse to indulge in some Undercover Quinoa. I swear I could eat a whole bag if left unsupervised.
I also discovered that Koia has fruity cereal milk. I used it with this coffee I got from TBR bookstore to make my own version of my favorite coffee drink from Lighthouse Coffee, the cereal latte. Perfect for a nice breakfast treat.
LATEST READ: I finally finished The Library Game by Gigi Pandian, and I did not realize it was part of a series! I kept getting targeted with it on Instagram, so I listened to it and loved it. It was funny, and it took me quite a while to solve the mystery.
I also am an ARC read for Battle of the Exes by Ellie Hartwood. This was such a quick read. As the title says, it is a sweet romantic comedy. The exes having to work together to save her family's business makes for some great banter. A perfect beach read since it comes out July 1st.
CURRENT READ: Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer. This book has me cracking up as I'm trying to do some craft projects while listening to it. With a few road trips to Mississippi coming up, I should have sime time to knock a few audio books out.
WATCHING: We just finished Avatar, The Last Airbender and are currently in search of our next family show.
UPCOMING ADVENTURES: This is the week that I go to help run a kid's camp in Mississippi. There's a handful of us going and we're staying at an Airbnb. I'm not super close with any of the people going, so we'll see how my introvert self handles having to people longer than I normally would.
