ARC Season: Danny Hall Gets A Lawyer

Danny Hall Gets A Lawyer is out today and y'all really need to check this one out!

The story takes place mainly in the town of Goose Run, which is your quintessential quirky small town that is not short of meddling neighbors.

Goose Run is home to our friend Danny Hall. Danny is a local boy who works at the gas station. Is it his dream job? No, but until he can save up money to go to the local community college to become an EMT, it pays the bills.

Danny lives with his "brothers" with his grandma's house. Grandma is currently living her best life at the senior center to give the boys some space to be adults.

Danny's neighbor is a crotchety old man who has issues with the boys not maintaining their yard to his standards. Danny and his bros, naturally, don't want to give in to him and the more he complains, the less moves they make to clean it up.

Then one day, the neighbor takes it too far and cuts down Danny's tree. The tree that his grandfather planted for his grandmother.

Enter Miller Clarke. Miller is a small town lawyer, in the bigger small town nearby, who is just trying to gain some experience so he can put small town living in his rear view mirror on his way to the big city.

Miller and his intern Marty, who is an expert in tree law ... who knew, show up on Danny's door step. Danny and crew are confused since they didn't call a lawyer, but it turns out that Danny's boss and Miller's boss are good friends so Miller's boss offers to take the case pro bono.

There's an attraction between the two that neither really want to admit just how deep it goes. Grandma gives Danny some hard truths to think about, and Miller has some hard truths of his own to wade through on whether the future he thought he wanted is really the future that he still wants.

Miller's boss reminds him that he took also wanted to work in a big city job, and even did for a while but you can't bring your dog to work there ... and that's why sometimes you just have to open up your own firm.

With Lucille the feral goose, Marty the frat boy tree law expert, Ms. Thirsting-Wallace and Alexander Hamilton, and a whole crew of brothers, the laughs keep you wanting to read this one.
