June Recap

Why is summer trying to be over so fast? Also, why is 2025 going so fast?! We're already halfway through the year, so I've got some work to do on this Bingo card that I can honestly say I will not get blackout on. To be honest, my savings is slipping away from essential things like medical bills and car repairs. But, here's a quick recap of June and the current Bingo card to show my progress.

WALK 500 MORE:

As for walking those 500 more miles (to reach 1000 miles walked by the end of the year), I'm currently at 637.2 miles walked. We have a good pace going, and I already know that my numbers for this month are going to be lower than normal because of our vacation that will be packed with activities that don't involve walking (like 2 10+ hour train rides and a jeep tour to start), plus I've started working to incorporate more strength training sessions into the mix. Also, it's ARC season over here, so I've got a lot of books in the next month and a half to read, promote, and review.

GET YOUR CRAFT ON:

Well, I checked off completing 5 craft projects! I've kind of fallen in love with diamond painting, and these dragon bookmarks are kind of adorable. I have one more left to go in this set, then I have a different set of bookmarks and lots of dinosaur themed items to work on.

These will be coming on the family vacation because with that many hours to kill on the train, I can knock a few of them out in between reading and blogging.

VOLUNTEER CENTRAL:

This month was a big one for volunteering for me. I joined a group from our church to help run a kids' camp in Mississippi, and then it was summer reading time at the Boys and Girls Club. I've said it before, but summer reading is the highlight of my summer, and the PB&J lunch is something I look forward to every year.

CHASING THE FUN:

The fun was chased this month! Between a trip to the LSU Museum of Art, the Louisiana Art & Science museum, a trip to the beach, the aquarium and to see my one of my mom's favorite musicals, there was a lot to be grateful for and a lot of memories made.

Overall, this is where we are on the bingo card. Currently looks like my best chance at a bingo is the top row, but the hardest part of that will be cleaning out my office. I also need to remember to draw some side quests, since I didn't remember at all this month. 😬
