Weekly Recap

This week flew by, and I know I've been saying that and probably will continue to do so. As I heard someone on the internet refer to it as, Nutcracker season goes by in the blink of an eye!

The highlight of the week for us was being with kiddo while she participated in ACDA All-State Honor Choir! She had a blast and said this was "low key the best choir I've performed with." She loved her director, she loved the experience, and she loved seeing her choir friends from other schools.

She claims she isn't going to participate in this one next year, but we'll see how that goes. I get her feeling a little burned out at the thought of her upcoming choirs: LMEA All-District (November), Carnegie Hall (February), Les Mis performance (April/May), and London (June). We will find out Tuesday if she makes LMEA All-State. She isn't expecting it since she was 8th chair and is a freshman going up against a lot of older kids, but we'll see. She also has her normal school choir performances on top of all of these, so she may need a break from the competitive ones next year.

COOL EATS

We tried some new places and visited some old favorites while we were in New Orleans with kiddo.
  • We ordered Pizza Luna for dinner on the first night and this breakfast pizza was amazing!
  • I went to Ironworks Coffee & Crepes for lunch and got this turkey and brie crepe with spring mix and walnuts (The Antonio) and it was huge and worth every bite.
  • We went to Mannings and of course I had to get the Best Stop boudin pepper jack egg rolls.
  • Last stop was at Mother's, where I got the catfish poboy.

BOOKS READ

I got to knock a few off of my TBR while kiddo was in rehearsals, and knock some of my pending ARC reads down. And by that, I mean I knocked out the current ARCs I have for the Letters to Mrs. Clause series. This means I can catch up on some others that have hit the back burner. So expect to see reviews on all of these over the next two weeks.
