Luna’s story is the one I have been waiting on since this series started! Luna Steele has always been my favorite Savannah Lace lady because she is authentically herself, she is fiercely loyal to her friends, and will always fight for the people she loves. Luna is a strong woman who has given off the vibes of not needing a man this entire series, and it’s been alluded to that it is due to Dominic Calder.
Dom broke Luna’s heart when they were younger, which is something they both have admitted to in previous books, so I’ve been waiting to get the whole story. Luna has spent all of these years thinking that Dom left her behind and cheated on her. When she finds out that things aren’t how she thought, she struggles with what to do with the anger she has held on to for so many years.
Once Dom realizes that bringing another woman to events to make Luna jealous isn’t going to work to make her want to give him a second chance, he starts doing everything he can to show Luna that he sees her, and that for him it has always been her. Even when he betrayed her, he did it because he thought he had to in order to become the person he felt she needed him to be.
Luna shows Dom that what he never saw when they were growing up is that while the Steele family may have had money, what they didn’t have was freedom to choose. The Churchill quote, “Fear is a reaction; courage is a decision” is mentioned in the book, and once Luna and Dom both make the decision to lean into the second chance, they build a relationship built on respect, trust, and love.
