The highlight of this week was finding out that kiddo got accepted for BOTH Honors Performance Series choirs that she auditioned for!
Kids from around the world were invited to audition for various choirs through this group. Kiddo was invited to audition for two, and we told her why not go for both of them? We were praying she would get one, but we never dreamed she would make both!
The New York trip will end with a performance at Carnegie Hall, while the London trip will end with a performance at the Royal Hall.
We are beyond excited, and are now in a world wind of applying for a passport and trying to solicit donations to help fund both of these amazing opportunities.
CHASING THE FUN
A couple of chasing the fun things for this week. It was homecoming for kiddo, so I got to hang out with the moms and it's always a good time with this crew. The kids had fun too. She even got her date to dance, which is a big deal!
Our church youth and children went to the corn maze this weekend. I had never been, so I didn't realize just how big of a deal it was. We all made it out of the maze in a decent time. Plus we got to pick sunflowers, pet some animals, play some games, and eat some yummy food.
COOL EATS
- Met up with my friend Lexie for lunch and had this delicious quesadilla from Modesto
- I'm a sucker for anything Pokemon themed, and I almost didn't want to eat this Hershey bar because it was too cute.
- Cake pops from Eloise's to celebrate our Honors Series Performance selections
- Chicken and waffles from Solou for homecoming dinner
BOOKS READ
I really need to hop on the reading this week because I have some ARCs to get ahead/catch up on. Since I'll be traveling with kiddo to All-State choir in New Orleans, I'll have some down time to catch up on reading while she is at rehearsals.
I read the first book in the Letters to Mrs. Claus series, A Mistletoe Mix Up, which releases October 13th. This is a friends to more romance where we have a wanderer for our female lead who needs to remember that sometimes people are worth staying for.
I also read Sweet on Charlie Beck, the second book in the Five2Go! boys series. This boyband is loosely based on One Direction and Charlie is loosely based on Louis. The banter between Charlie and Devon is brilliant, and it's yet another friends to more ... but this one has spice.
